This position is responsible for running the daily operations of the Community Relations Department (CRD), engaging with homeowners to address conformance notices, directing the activities of the CRD secretary and inspectors, and overseeing the operation of the RV storage facility.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in customer service, office administration and organization, problem-solving, and working with individuals from all backgrounds.

PRIMARY PURPOSE This position is responsible for running the daily operations of the Community Relations Department (CRD), engaging with homeowners to address conformance notices, directing the activities of the CRD secretary and inspectors, and overseeing operation of the RV storage facility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS Maintain the conformance standards of the Association's governing documents.
Engage with members to resolve non-conformance notices and process project applications.
Demonstrate consistent courtesy and professionalism in all work aspects.
Oversee daily operations of the CRD team.
Supervise, hire, evaluate and train staff.
Conduct home site inspections.
Monitor spending and office budget.
Maintain assets for the department in accordance with the Reserve Study Guidelines.
Assist Manager with coordinating activities of the Environmental Control Committee (ECC).
Assist Manager with coordinating activities of the Community Relations Committee (CRC).
Attend committee meetings as needed.
Conduct daily status meetings.
Review bi-weekly payroll.
Assist with preparing annual department operating, capital and reserve budget.
Conduct monthly safety meetings and provide training.
Report and investigate work-related injuries.
Write department specific articles for Association publication.
Conduct performance evaluations of staff.
Maintain the RV storage facility.
Process RV storage move-in, move-out, and contracts.
Other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Daily work hours will coordinate with CRD's office hours, occasionally evening or weekend shifts.
AMOUNT OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED This is a self-directed position with regular goals and assignments from Management.
The supervisor is expected to use sound business judgment, knowledge of the Association's governing documents, and legal standards to make daily decisions.
INTERACTION WITH OTHERS This position interacts daily with homeowner-members, committee members, font line employees and senior staff.
Occasionally interacts with legal counsel and with municipal court officials.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position supervises all non-exempt CRD personnel including the secretary and inspectors.
Conducts interviews, appraisals, provides developmental feedback, and corrective actions when needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, and frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands and fingers.
This position occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms.
Incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
Good close, distance, and peripheral vision are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position works both indoors and outdoors.
Regularly exposed to weather conditions that can be frequently damp, windy, cold, or hot.
This position may occasionally work long days and unusual hours in darkness or light and occasionally encounter aggressive people during the performance of duties.
A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job.
USE OF DISCRETION AND INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT This position has discretionary authority over personnel supervised and makes independent decisions that may affect the safety and security of SDCEA personnel, guests, and homeowners.
QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
One year of leadership experience required.
Experience with customer service/dispute resolution.
Experience in HOA Inspections and governing documents preferred.
CCAM or other CID designation preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work well with others with strong organizational & time management skills.
Working knowledge of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as a team player, communicate and resource with internal and external team members.
Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations.
Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
Willingness to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SDCEA guidelines and employment standards.
Ability to manage a budget and project expenses.
Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office:
Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Requires a valid California Driver's license.
